My java script Shopping cart MBShopping Cart has been made as the result of being unable to find javascript shopping cart software which can read a small database of products from a simple text file. It shows products images as well as prices and product names. It displays quickly and looks professional. One of the best features is: It easy to understand how it works and keep it running by yourself. It cost you nothing. Some more things about it: no need to change javascript source code for each page but to simply copy and paste one existing page, change the pages title to let's say wines, create a directory with the same name as your pages title. What do you put in that directory ? - you should put a text file with the same name as your page's title. What do you write in that text file ? - You should write SKU CODE i.e ( for example WP3436 ) . SKU CODE is a number that makes it all easier for you to identify that product by the reference code . At the end of SKU CODE put : .Next you should write Product's name and at the end put '' : '' , after that put the price that you have paid for that product and at the end put '':''. At last put the profit that you want to make (for example - 30% ) remember to put only 30 and do not put 30%. Last thing you need to do is put '':'' and that's it. So your first line of your text database file should look like this: WP3436 : Stella Artois 440ml x 24 cans : 17.89 : 25 :
Save an image into that directory which must be JPG image and give SKU CODE'S name to it (for an example if SKU CODE is WP3436 so image's name should be WP3436.jpg. Now execute the page to test it and it will display your first product in shopping cart's page. CLICK ON - Shop Menu - TO TEST IT FOR YOURSELF - DEMO SHOPPING CART VERSION
It will calculate 17.89 + 25% and display selling price which is 22.36 . Selling price will be diplayed including your profit and VAT will be added at the and of each product's line ( if applicable).
